John Jaffray is the principal of JJR Power. JJR is an energy project development and financing firm that was founded in 2006. Since its founding, JJR has financed and/or originated over thirty solar power projects across the US. John has founded and served as principal in three energy-focused firms since 1995.
Northern/AES, was an early energy power-marketing firm that was a joint venture with two utility partners, Elk River Minnesota based electric cooperative United Power Associates and Arlington Virginia based wholesale power generator AES Corp. Northern/AES Energy (1997-99), an $11 million power marketer. FPD Power Development, Inc. is a power-plant construction firm. FPD has served as the electrical contractor on gas-fired turbine power plants that generate over 500 MW megawatts of electrical power.
MHP Partners LP, an energy trading firm is active in the MISO (Midcontinent Independent System Operator) energy market. The MISO energy market included the electric grid across all or parts of 15 Midwestern States and Manitoba. MHP Partners also member in several interconnected power pools in the eastern US including PJM Interconnection LLC (PJM), ISO New England and the New York Independent System Operator (NYISO).
In 2010, he also Founded CAP Solar in 2010, an $11 million partnership with Goldman Sachs that is operating 2,200 kW over 35 operating projects in New Jersey.
Mr. Jaffray has extensive commodity trading experience, he was a Cargill Member of the Minneapolis Grain Exchange, Chicago Board of Trade and Chicago Mercantile Exchange. He is a graduate of Ithaca College where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science.
