James Shrewsbury
James Shrewsbury is a founder-level investment professional with more than three decades of hands-on experience in U.S. electricity and natural gas markets, and a proven record of managing external capital dating to 2004. His expertise spans futures, options, and basis trading strategies, underpinned by an authoritative command of market structure, regional fundamentals, and risk management across some of the most volatile segments of the energy complex in addition experience in the precious and rare earth metals markets.
James is a Founder and Partner, former Co-Chief Investment Officer, and Portfolio Manager of e360 Power, where he shaped firm-wide investment strategy, portfolio construction, and risk governance across power and natural gas derivatives. In that capacity, he designed and executed fundamentally driven trading strategies encompassing futures, structured options, and regional basis exposures — integrating rigorous supply-demand analysis, transmission and pipeline constraints, storage dynamics, regulatory considerations, and volatility management into a cohesive investment framework.
Prior to e360 Power, James served at Griffon Energy Capital, a hedge fund specialising in U.S. power and natural gas markets, where he further honed his derivatives trading and portfolio management capabilities. Earlier career roles at American Electric Power and Continental Grain Company provided the foundational grounding in utility operations, commercial energy markets, and risk management that continues to inform his distinctively holistic approach to energy investing.
James departed e360 Power in November 2025 and is currently pursuing select investment opportunities and strategic partnerships in U.S. power and natural gas derivatives markets. He holds a degree from the University of Missouri–Columbia.
