Mr. Young has extensive experience in creating and leading asset-based businesses. He is skilled at maximizing net operating income and sourcing secured financing and tax-oriented equity.

He established a full-service asset management operation for a national solar services company, including the sourcing of providers for specialized services, coordinating these vendors with in-house services, and creating performance metrics for the solar assets and the service providers. Additionally, he created financial feasibility models to analyze roof top solar developments under power purchase and owner-user business models, and via leveraged and/or leased capital structures.

Earlier, Mr. Young launched a development firm specializing in the highly regulated and segmented Charter School industry. He established an affiliation with an existing nationwide real estate services firm in order to have a nationwide footprint day one. He also formulated business and marketing plans to launch and operate multiple asset-based businesses. The successful execution of these plans leads to investment pipelines as large as $120 million.

Mr. Young also lead a mortgage loan administration department that maintained profitability and superior collection rates relative to peers on a $800+ million income property loan and REO portfolio during a severe real estate slump. Success was attributed to intense mentoring and coaching of staff to create a collaborative team that anticipated problems as well as opportunities. He also orchestrated $300 million in public equity syndications where he coordinated and scheduled the team’s efforts, prepared operational budgets, and variance action plans, and assured the team’s work product remained consistent with company goals and overall business philosophy.

Mr. Young received his MBA from the Booth Graduate School of Business at the University of Chicago.  Was awarded a scholarship to participate in a 6-month student exchange at the London Business School at London University and received a BBA with Honors in Finance and Banking from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
