Mr. Andruschak brings nearly thirty years of innovation and experience focused on the insurance industry. During his 20+ years as a partner with several leading international law firms, including Clifford Chance and Mayer Brown, Mr. Andruschak’s expert counsel was sought by insurance companies, insurance agencies, MGAs and regulatory authorities. His insurance practice was comprehensive, including mergers and acquisitions, public and private capital markets transactions, structured and leveraged finance, corporate governance and regulatory compliance. In addition, Mr. Andruschak was frequently engaged by insurers, investment banks and asset managers to advise on the development, regulatory approval and bringing to market of bespoke insurance products and other risk transfer and risk financing vehicles. He was consistently invited to speak at prestigious trade conferences about the natural intersection of insurance, structured finance and derivatives.
Five years ago, Mr. Andruschak decided to transition away from his law firm practice and invest his seasoned capabilities on the client side of the insurance industry. He began his new endeavors assisting , as Chief Legal Officer, a group of former clients form, finance and source business for a first-of-its-kind MGA that would transfer longevity from pensions and life reinsurers to property casualty reinsurers and the capital markets.
Mr. Andruschak’s most recent engagement prior to joing Traust was acting as Co-Head of Structuring and Head of Insurance Solutions for a newly formed asset manager specializing in direct lending to emerging growth companies. His responsibilities included identifying or otherwise developing insurance products capable of mitigating the risk of, and obtaining ratings for, loans to tech rich but cash poor borrowers that do not qualify for traditional bank financings. This brief but substantial engagement led directly to Mr. Andruschaks interest in, and eventual partnering with Traust.
Mr. Andruschak received a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience from the University of Rochester, and completed his legal education Magna Cum Laude at Syracuse University College of Law where he was an editor of the schiol’s LW Review.
