Mr. Wood’s engineering design experience spans over 45 years. During this timeframe he was head of power engineering at Chevron Energy Solutions, engineering manager of one of the largest electric utilities in the US (Southern California Edison) and has won many industry awards including EPA project of the year and the Honeywell Engineering Excellence Award.

Mr. Wood’s career also includes engineering leadership roles at such prominent US companies as Honeywell, Xerox, Arco, Hughes Oil and Tools and NASA. Mr. Wood has led the engineering and design of hundreds of energy projects including 5+ GW power production including solar, geothermal, waste to energy, biomass, and natural gas power plants. As a Registered Profession Engineer, Mr. Wood serves as the Engineer of Record on his projects. Mr. Wood has advised some of the world’s largest companies in regard to renewable energy, power production and petroleum projects including GE, Goldman Sachs, and most of the world’s largest solar companies.

Mr. Wood is active in many professional organizations including the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) where he was awarded the grade of Fellow. The grade of Fellow recognizes unusual distinction in the profession and is conferred only by invitation of the Board of Directors upon a person with an extraordinary record of accomplishments in any of IEEE’s designated fields of interest. Mr. Wood is a Member IEEE Standard Board and a Member IEEE Petroleum and Petrochemical Conference. He has authored the IEEE Bronze Book, IEEE/ANSI Standard 739 “IEEE Recommended Practices Energy Management in Industrial and Commercial Facilities” and the IEEE 1068 “Recommend Practices for Repair and Rewinding of Motors for the Petroleum and Chemical Industry.”
