Richard Foster
Richard is the Director of Underwriting at AGILE Risk Advisory where he is responsible for originating and structuring facultative risks. Richard has 24 years’ property and energy experience within the London market. He is an originator of deal flow bringing a wealth of knowledge and contacts acquired having worked inside behemoth platforms to disruptive start-ups. Richard is a well-known market name due to his broker-service, his pricing and technical expertise; and he has personally underwritten over U$650m of net premium income over his career.
Richard has held the position of Global Head of Property (US & International) for the Brit Syndicates, running an annual book greater than U$100m with eight Underwriters for five and half years before joining AGILE Risk Partners. He also worked in the non-Lloyd’s, Company market (with AWAC, and Zurich). Richard has a deep understanding of reinsurance clients; he has drafted insurance policy wordings and the engaged with engineering teams.
He has maintained positions on the market LMA and IUA committees, been an independent peer reviewer and auditor for other technical lines outside of Property also. He co-founded Agile Risk Partners with James Poole to initiate the next steps to bring capital closer to the client and to further the development of pricing the qualification of risk, with tech, beyond the blunt tools currently employed today.
